Long before the period of Communist reign, FIVE THOUSAND years of culture, legends, and arts thrived in every region of mainland China, and year in and year out, the NYC-based Shen Yun breathes life into these enduring treasures for everyone to admire! 2025 is no exception.
Heavenly gods walking across the earth. Vast steppes streaked by Mongolian horse-riding nomads. And battleground valor of lionhearted soldiers. Shen Yun’s yearly exhibitions revolve around the innumerable fables and parables that crossed China’s dynasties, creatively illustrating their tragedies and romances with teachings from Taoist and Buddhist creeds to polish each story.
The forthcoming presentation will feature twenty narrative sections of ethereal performances in roughly 2 hours. Professionally trained dancers trimmed in delightfully vibrant outfits will glide to the floor, recounting the show’s stories with 17 or 18 elaborate folk dance routines. Additionally, 2 to 3 vocal and instrumental solos will accentuate these chapters with soaring symphonies — traditional and original alike.
A full-piece band will perform a sweeping score throughout the event, seamlessly incorporating Western and Chinese instruments. In regard to staging, Shen Yun makes use of a state-of-the-art virtual backdrop to render immersive scenarios, drawing guests into the world of China before Communism in a sensational fashion.
For the tour’s visit to Lakeland, Florida, the iconic Youkey Theatre will open as host.
